Lucas Coenen takes the win at Flanders!
Lucas Coenen (#96) wins the MXGP of Flanders for RedBull KTM after a glorious battle against Romain Febvre (#3) in Lommel, Belgium.
The competition was fierce and the battle between Febvre did not disappoint. Febvre took the lead and won race 1 with Coenen 18 seconds behind him in 2nd, but Lucas, knowing the importance of staying in the season championship title, came out in race 2 with determination to win, and didn't give up fighting to make that a reality.
Febvre is currently leading the MXGP Championship with 734 points, and this result from Coenen at Flanders means that there is only a 9 point difference between him and Febvre, and keeps his dream of winning the 2025 MXGP Championship alive.
MX2
Kay de Wolf (#1) dominated MX2 on Sunday and took a convincing win at the MX2 in Lommel, claiming victory in both race 1 and race 2. The Dutch rider is currently in 2nd place in the MX2 Championship with 666 points, 38 points away from the current leader, Simon Längenfelder (#27). The season is far from over and the battle will continue to the next event in Sweden. Can Längenfelder maintain his lead, or will Kay de Wolf continue to destroy the competition and take a back-to back MX2 Championship title? Only time will tell.
